Just a quick reminder on the tight timescales for submitting furlough claims under the extended furlough scheme.
Claims for furlough days from November onwards must be submitted, generally speaking, by 11.59pm 14 calendar days after the end of the month they relate to.
The exception to this is where that date falls on a weekend or a bank holiday, in which case the claims should be submitted the next working day as set out below:
Claim for furlough days in
- December 2020
- January 2021
- February 2021
- March 2021
Claim must be submitted by
- 14th January 2021
- 15th February 2021
- 15th March 2021
- 14th April 2021
The timescale for April submissions is yet to be announced but will be on or around the 14th or 15th May.
There are some limited excuses that HMRC will accept for late submissions but the message is to get these in on time to avoid issues.
